Thank you for visiting the Boulder Media Works site. Your privacy is important to us. This privacy policy describes our practices regarding the privacy of information that we collect through this site for online registration for the Boulder Media Works 2008 Sweepstakes (the “Promotion”), which is hosted and operated from Glendale, Colorado, U.S.A., and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used. This Privacy Policy does not cover any personal correspondence, such as a personal e-mail, you may send to us. If you do not want to be bound by the terms and conditions of the Privacy Policy, please do not use our site or register online for the Promotion.

The Information We Collect and How We Collect It

Boulder Media Works gathers two types of information through its online registration for the Promotion. The first type of information is “Personally Identifiable Information,” which includes information from which you can be identified. Personally Identifiable Information includes: name, address, email address, telephone number, and age, 

The second type of information is “Aggregate Information,” from which an individual cannot be identified. Types of Aggregate Information include the type of browser you are using (e.g., Internet Explorer®, Netscape®), the type of operating system you are using (e.g., Microsoft® Windows®, Windows XP®, Windows Vista®), and the domain name of your Internet service provider (e.g., America Online® (aol.com), Microsoft Networks® (msn.com)). Boulder Media Works uses Google Analytics to collect Aggregate information.

Computer Cookies

A “cookie” is a small file placed on your computer by an outside website. It is not a program, and is not able to perform any operations by itself. Instead, a cookie contains a unique ID tag, on which a variety of information can be stored, including information voluntarily given to the outside website. When you revisit this outside website at a later time, the website can recognize you by matching the cookie ID on your computer with the counterpart in the outside website’s database. With a cookie for the outside website, a user will not have to log in a password more than once. Our site does not use cookies. The site will continue to work with all the features and functions.

Who is Using Your Personal Information

We only collect Personally Identifiable Information from you when you voluntarily provide it to us by registering online for the Promotion. We will not sell, share or rent this information to others in ways different from those disclosed in this Privacy Policy. We may provide some of your Personally Identifiable Information to Avantair, Inc., a third party sponsor of the Promotion, in accordance with the Official Rules of this Promotion. Avantair will not sell, share or rent your information to any other third parties. You should carefully review the Official Rules of the Promotion because they contain additional important information about Boulder Media Works’ use of your Personally Identifiable Information. To the extent the terms and conditions of the Official Rules conflict with this Privacy Policy, the terms and conditions of such Official Rules shall control.

We collect the minimum amount of Personally Identifiable Information necessary to enable us to (a) verify your eligibility in the Promotion; (b) identify you in the event you are selected as the Promotion winner; (c) contact you in the event you are selected as Promotion winner.

The Deletion of Your Personal Information

To prevent fraud, fix problems, and comply with local, state, and federal laws, we will retain some of your Personal Information in our databases. Upon your request, we will promptly delete most of the information in your account, however, you should be aware that not all of your personal information will be completely removed from our databases.

Minors

Boulder Media Works does not knowingly collect Personally Identifiable Information from children age 13 or younger. If you are age 13 or younger, we request that you do not provide your name and address or other contact information or any other Personally Identifiable Information.

How You Review Your Information or Correct Your Information

Boulder Media Works offers you the ability to review your Personally Identifiable Information, updating your Personally Identifiable Information or having your Personally Identifiable Information deleted and withdraw permission for its continued use by logging into the Sweepstakes site, contacting Boulder Media Works at info@bouldermediaworks.com. If you request to have any Personally Identifiable Information deleted or deactivated, such information will be deleted and deactivated as practicable in accordance with applicable law.

Other Parties’ Websites

This Privacy Policy only addresses our own use and disclosure of your Personally Identifiable Information. Boulder Media Works is not responsible for the privacy practices of other websites. This is true even if the Boulder Media Works site contains links to other sites. Please be advised that when you leave the Boulder Media Works website, different disclosure policies apply. You should read the Privacy Policy of each website you visit before disclosing personal information.

Disclosure and Security

Boulder Media Works cannot guarantee that all of your Personally Identifiable Information will never be disclosed in ways not outlined by this Privacy Policy. For example, we will disclose information if forced to do so by a court order or warrant. Additionally, “hackers” and other unauthorized third parties may illegally intercept or access our databases or transmissions of private information. That being said, we take great care to protect private data against loss, disclosure and unauthorized access. We use numerous security techniques to protect this data, both inside and outside of the company. First, your information is stored on Boulder Media Works’ personal servers, which are located in the United States and thus protected by United States laws and regulations. Additionally, we use safeguards, including MD5 Encryption to protect your private information. Nevertheless, it is not possible to provide fail-proof security.
